The customer was using a number of different Cisco products for their networking, including routers and switches. They also had Dell Technologies solutions in their data center, and Microsoft deployed for their desktops. Sentinel was already providing help with staffing and break/fix projects as needed.

Sentinel began the process of updating all of the customer’s workstations to the latest version of Windows. Each of the 8,000+ desktops needed to be re-imaged, which was done using both automated and manual processes. The Sentinel team handled everything from a project management perspective and completed work when it was most convenient for the customer, which included weekends and evenings.

The Windows version upgrade provided the customer with a number of benefits beyond simply ensuring their operating systems would continue to be supported and regularly updated. The latest version of Windows includes stronger malware security tools, applications for safer web browsing, more efficient processes for updates, the ability to sync your work between computers using a Microsoft account, and the ease of deploying system configurations through the cloud. It has significantly improved the overall user experience, helping to enhance productivity and collaboration. The customer was very happy with the new operating system, and expressed their gratitude to Sentinel for going above and beyond to complete this project on a unique timeline.
