Sentinel Vaccinates A Healthcare Organization With Technology Upgrades

The customer was working with a mixture of technologies and components both old and new. This included storage and servers from Dell EMC, infrastructure elements from Cisco and HP, as well as network routers and switches from NETGEAR and Ruckus.


The customer’s patchwork IT environment with technology from a variety of different sources often made it unstable and difficult to work with, manage, and troubleshoot. Many of their storage, backup, infrastructure, and wireless elements were also outdated or insufficient and in immediate need of an upgrade.


Sentinel worked closely with the customer to develop a comprehensive roadmap that established best practices and standardization techniques in alignment with their unique environment. An overhaul of their infrastructure included the deployment of several Cisco solutions, including new wireless routers, switches, and access points. Security upgrades included on premise video cameras and a Meraki next-generation firewall for their network. A HyperFlex platform was also installed so the customer would have an easy way to manage and adjust their infrastructure and related applications.


The implementation of best practices and a fresh IT management strategy created stability and enabled growth for the customer. These processes also enriched interactions between employees and patients, resulting in better, more responsive care. New infrastructure components provided the customer with a more secure, streamlined, and easily manageable environment. Additional routers, access points, and switches significantly expanded their wireless capabilities across their facilities to improve communication, collaboration, and mobility. Storage and backup upgrades enhanced the customer’s redundancy and resiliency to deliver data protection and peace of mind in the event of severe weather or a disaster.

Sentinel’s monitoring and managed services continues to keep a close eye on the customer’s network to ensure it remains fully functional and up-to-date. We host bi-weekly meetings with them to discuss progress on ongoing technology projects and prioritize future needs.
