Sentinel Helps Manufacturing Company Build a New Identity
Environment
The customer was in the midst of a major merger and total rebranding with multiple companies, which meant multiple technology environments and networks. Microsoft was a common thread between them, with an Azure cloud tenancy, M365 tenants, as well as systems and applications such as Entra ID, Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
Challenge
Prior to this project, the customer owned multiple companies that all operated individually with their own IT environments. The merging and acquisition of these organizations into a new parent company required the convergence, transfer, and rebranding of the IT infrastructures into a single network and system. The customer asked Sentinel to help ensure a smooth, consistent transition for both employees and their clients.
Solution
The Sentinel team worked closely with the customer’s key stakeholders on a tenant-to-tenant migration which required moving all of the different environments into one Azure tenancy. This included the convergence of M365 and Microsoft Entra (fka Azure Active Directory) solutions to ensure consistent collaboration tools and employee experiences. Sentinel also helped with the rebranding effort, changing usernames, email addresses, and other aspects of their Modern Work environment for standardize of identities across all locations. Staff augmentation services provided experts to support the customer’s end users and assist with the scaling of IT operations.
Results
The merger and rebranding were time sensitive for the customer as they prepared to debut on the stock exchange and needed to have the behind-the-scenes integration completed prior to the listing. Despite the complexities of migrating multiple diverse tenancies together into a single Azure cloud instance, the Sentinel team encountered very few issues and minimized any disruption to the customer, their employees, and clients. They were grateful Sentinel completed this project in a timely fashion, making it easier than ever for users to access data, share, and collaborate with one another no matter their location.
