The customer’s existing on-premises PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) was over 15+ years old, and the organization leveraged a traditional workflow-based solution for viewing images, voice dictation/transcription, and report sign-off with no lifecycle management for record retention.

Sentinel’s consulting team leveraged its extensive healthcare industry expertise to conduct an imaging assessment and workflow analysis within the customer’s environment. The assessment enabled Sentinel’s consultants to develop the requirements, timelines, dependencies, and evaluation criteria for this cloud transition project. Sentinel then led the program implementation efforts that included customer reference site visits, vendor selection and coordination, contract negotiations, and the redesign of workflows for clinical stakeholders – all in close collaboration with the customer’s IT team.

Over three months from the implementation project kickoff to full launch, the customer successfully deployed their new cloud-based PACS and front-end speech recognition. These cutting-edge technologies reduced manual processes, streamlined workflows, as well as improved patient satisfaction and outcomes overall. The new solution included some innovative artificial intelligence (AI) features.
