Sentinel Boxes Up a Security Refresh for Cardboard Manufacturer

Environment

The customer’s environment was largely comprised of Cisco solutions for security and communications. They also primarily used Microsoft solutions for their cloud and desktop infrastructure.

Challenge

The customer had never been particularly concerned about security, and while they did have a number of protection solutions deployed in their environments, most were older and nearing end-of-life status. A security scare that required the involvement of an incident response team inspired the customer to harden their security infrastructure with new and upgraded solutions and services.

Solution

Sentinel worked closely with the customer to identify their exact needs, then developed a multi-year roadmap to help overhaul their security infrastructure. An initial, comprehensive Enterprise Agreement was established between Sentinel and the customer to cover Cisco security solutions, including Secure Endpoint (aka AMP for detection and response), Umbrella (for cloud protection and SASE), Duo (for multi-factor authentication), as well as their firewalls.

Sentinel also encouraged the customer to add Security Operations Center (SOC) services for 24x7x365 monitoring of their environment. It provided significant value and even stronger protection when deployed and integrated with Cisco’s XDR (Extended Detection and Response) solution.

Results

The customer’s security infrastructure has been refreshed and hardened following this project with Sentinel. The combination of Sentinel’s SOC with Cisco XDR now enables the customer to detect, prioritize, and remediate complex threats across hybrid environments. This has shortened the time between detection and response, increased the scalability of their security without needing to hire additional personnel, and helped them save money on hardware costs while simultaneously advancing their capabilities.

After conducting a comprehensive review of their vendors and solutions, the customer was so satisfied with the security project that they decided to exclusively use Sentinel for all IT needs across their entire infrastructure. Sentinel remains fully invested in this partnership, continuing to deliver quality products, services, and Always Connected Technical Support (ACTS) for the customer’s Cisco, Meraki, and Microsoft Azure solutions.
