Food Packaging Manufacturer Cooks Up a Security Modernization Project with Cisco XDR

A family-owned and operated manufacturer that has been around for over 100 years, this Chicagoland-based customer creates sanitary packaging equipment for businesses to use with their food products.

Environment

The customer’s environment included a number of Cisco networking and security solutions, some of which had started to show signs of aging and would need to be upgraded soon.

Challenge

As they continued to grow, the customer’s environment became increasingly complex and interconnected. This placed additional strain on their security infrastructure, which raised concerns that some of their legacy solutions might not be able to properly protect the organization against evolving and sophisticated cyber threats. The customer sought a technology partner to help modernize their security without slowing down their operations or progress.

Solution

Sentinel worked closely with the customer to fully understand their goals, and tailored innovative and scalable security solutions capable of adapting to and integrating with their unique needs. Cisco XDR was deployed within the customer’s environment, which utilized artificial intelligence (AI) and automation to improve their network visibility, along with detection and response capabilities. The implementation of Cisco Secure Access with Zero Trust principles also marked a significant step forward in how teams were able to connect across the customer’s systems and sites.

Results

Using Cisco’s Enterprise Agreement model, Sentinel was able to streamline the customer’s licensing, protect their investment, and improve the way they manage their entire software lifecycle. It enabled the security modernization project to be completed with minimal disruption to the customer or their environment.

Cisco XDR both enhanced and simplified the customer’s ability to detect and respond to complex attacks across their network, endpoints, cloud, and identity. Cisco Secure Access made it easier for users and devices to seamlessly connect to cloud applications and remote networks without sacrificing essential protection. Built on a foundation of Zero Trust, it ensured traffic routing and policy enforcement remained optimal while enforcing least privilege security and high resilience.
