The public cloud had been part of the customer’s environment for several years as part of a multi-stage project to modernize their applications. Several dozen accounts in the cloud infrastructure were being used for AI and application development, with a mix of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and development/development operations (DevOps).

Sentinel conducted a security posture review of the customer’s public cloud environment, which included a comprehensive summary of identified risks within several categories such as identity and access management, network exposure, workload vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations. A compliance alignment summary was also included to provide adherence measurements against industry standards such as NIST CSF, CIS, etc. All risks and findings were aggregated into a series of recommendations prioritized according to severity for review with the customer.

The customer utilized the assessment to identify several areas where process and technological improvements could bolster the security of their cloud development infrastructure. Sentinel presented several suggestions backed by manufacturer best practices that would help ensure the customer was prepared for the production rollouts planned in the future. The customer was incredibly grateful to Sentinel for uncovering these issues, and plans to further expand their collaboration with upcoming technology initiatives.
