Symmetrix VMAX 10K is designed for a 100% virtually provisioned environment. Virtual provisioning presents a host, application, or file system with more storage than is actually physically allocated. This lowers cost of ownership by reducing initial over-allocation of storage capacity and reducing labor costs by simplifying data layout and eliminating the steps required to accommodate capacity growth.
RecoverPoint Splitter
A Symmetrix-based integrated RecoverPoint splitter for VMAX 10K is included with the core software, eliminating the need for costly external or host splitters for customers using the RecoverPoint feature on VMAX 10K.
