In spite of all the buzz around cloud computing, there is still some ambiguity to the theory of cloud computing and how it might apply to any particular business. Let Sentinel simplify the messaging around the cloud and help apply a cloud strategy that is customized based on your organization’s needs. - Private Cloud – also known as an internal cloud or corporate cloud, the private cloud leverages current computing infrastructure and creates a platform that serves a selected number of users with a pool of computing resources that your organization controls. Continuing advancements in the toolsets available to control, manage, orchestrate and secure the private cloud have helped make this the primary choice for delivering computing resources in nearly 80% of cloud based environments today.
- Public Cloud – computing resources are supplied by a service provider, normally over the internet or through a virtual private network. Examples are Google Apps, SalesForce.Com and Amazon Cloud. While most organizations have some level of public cloud present in their computing environments (HR, Payroll, CRM etc.), there is a lack of control and flexibility that continue to hinder adoption rates.
- Hybrid Cloud – when public and private clouds are combined within a single computing environment, the result is a Hybrid Cloud. Analysts believe that this will be the most common model in the future with integration and connectivity between private and public clouds presenting the biggest challenge to widespread adoption.
