Sentinel Adds Network Appliance Storage Products to Data Center Portfolio
Sentinel Technologies is pleased to announce the addition of the network storage product suite from Network Appliance (Net App) to Sentinel’s Data Center solution portfolio.
As a Net App Gold Partner, the Net App line of storage products will become part of Sentinel’s storage solutions set that currently includes EMC’s Clariion and Celerra, EMC’s suite of data center software and Cisco’s Fiber Channel switching products. The addition of one of the fastest growing network storage companies in the world is expected to significantly increase Sentinel’s ability to offer solutions to a wide range of customers.
“Net App provides an important enhancement for Sentinel – the ability to offer a network storage solution that is a strong fit with our mid market and public sector customer base” stated Bob Keblusek, SR. VP of Business Development at Sentinel. He added “Net App is known for their ability to provide quality storage networks but their technology also can enable the customer to leverage current industry standard storage platforms from other manufacturers by creating the interface that sees all the storage options across the network. This means the customer doesn’t have to think about a “rip and replace” strategy but instead can maximize current storage capacity while improving storage management and establishing a platform that is scalable”.
Net App grew by nearly 30 % in FY10 and industry analysts expect to see strong growth rates for the next several years based on the company’s position as an innovation and technology leader. Gartner, Inc. recently positioned NetApp in the Leaders Quadrant for Midrange and High-End NAS Solutions. NetApp NAS solutions are built on a unified storage platform, providing customers of all sizes with increased flexibility and performance along with industry-leading storage efficiency capabilities.
Another key driver for the Sentinel/Net App partnership is the impact Net App can have in the server and desktop virtualization space as well as recently being named as the only approved storage partner within the Cisco/Citrix desktop virtualization solution called Flexpod. Sentinel has been a Vmware Gold Reseller and Vmware Authorized Consultant for the past seven years and the company is also tightly aligned as a Gold level partner with both Cisco and Citrix. According to Brian Osborne, Sentinel’s EVP of Sales, “We see great things possible when you couple Cisco’s Unified Computing System with the powerful virtualization capabilities of Vmware and the advanced nature of Net App’s storage platform. Sentinel feels we need to have Net App to ensure can offer best-in-class virtualization solutions to our customers”.
